      Pros:
      It's a very good program.

      Cons:
      These products expire!

      Summary:
I got Microsoft Money 2006 with my laptop 1 1/2 years ago. So I bought the same program for my pc and installed it. The pc program expired and now doesn't talk to my Hotmail/Passport interface. This is a bummer since now I'll have to buy 2 new 2008 programs to be able to communicate with each other. (I guess!)

      Pros:
I have nothing but good reports on the strength. Everything works quite well.

      Cons:
I do not know of any weakness for what I use it for.

      Summary:
This is the 4th issue I have bought. I will continue to update Money Plus. It fufills all the needs I want in this type of program. Yes, I would recommend it to anyone. I have had no problems using it.

      Pros:
Easy to use when it's working.

      Cons:
      Stability Issues

      Summary:
You can setup a new file and use it for a few months when features stop working. One of the first to go is the Cash Flow forecast. You can click on it but it doesn't work and provides no error messages. Microsoft will tell you to start deleting bills and accounts until it starts working and manually add them back in. My experience of having this issue with 3 different files over the last 7 months shows that it's just easier to start over. I won't ever buy another Money program.

      Pros:
      established basic accounting software

      Cons:
No significant change from past editions

      Summary:
If all you need is basic home accounting software, there is not significant change from other editions, and I would recommend staying with previous edition(s). For 2008, the rebates for this product are more limited than previous years, meaning that without a rebate an upgrade is even less justified considering the possible price impact.

    • Very Good

      Pros:
Easy-to-use, does most of what a household needs financially

      Cons:
Not super easy to get started (but that is as much a limtation of the user's ability to get organized as it is of the software)

      Summary:
Microsoft has always been known for easy-to-use software, and Money has been the standard for finance in that regard for years. Money 2008 is basically the same as it has always been, and that is generally good. It would be nice if there were some way to make it easier to get started. However, I'm afraid that getting financially organized is generally something that you just have to decide to do. Even a snazzy intro tutorial or something like that might not help as much as one would hope. In summary if you are looking for a simple financial management tool, Money is an easy-to-use product that most likely does what you need.

      Pros:
East to install, friendly for previous version money user,

      Cons:
      Not many changes

      Summary:
I've started to use Microsoft Money since 2005 and also used Quicken in 2006. Money is more user friendly, maybe just my personal experience. This 2008 version upgrade is really smooth, much better than previous version upgrade that I almost lost historical data.Interface is very similar to 2007 which makes me feel I didn't make the upgrade. It does not have many new features and it's not an necessary upgrade unless your version is outdated.

      Pros:
consistent Microsoft format, easy to guide through and populate

      Cons:
      no tutorial

      Summary:
The easiness of this application to install was fast and painless. Also to register this product was a breeze. The only problem was that there was no tutorial in which to guide the user through the steps to set up your profile for Money Plus Deluxe 2008.

      Pros:
The interface is very user friendly, much better than Quicken based on past experience. It is a very stable program. The planning module is useful. Many deficiencies in the investment module.

      Cons:
Microsoft has not fixed some of the annoying problems over the years. This version requires activation--a big issue for many users. There are too many deficiencies in the investment module.

      Summary:
I have been a Money user since 1997. I tried Quicken once many years ago but preferred Money because Quicken's interface was not as user friendly. HR & Block and MS seem to be in a partnership to market their products. With a purchase of Taxcut, you can have Money Deluxe for free after rebate. The one thing about Money that annoys me the most is that most the time the price chart doesn't show stock/fund buys, sells, dividends, etc. I spoke with their tech support, they knew it's a problem but didn't seem to care; that was a few years ago. I doubt they spend much effort in improving the program over the years. Don't upgrade unless it's free after rebate. Let's pray Quicken will not go under.

      Pros:
The only good thing is the free credit monitoring

      Cons:
      1. No Support of any new bank2. Supported banks cannot be updated3. No change at all

      Summary:
This year's Money is a major disappointment to me once again. I thought it would at least add some support to some of the banks that it did not support previously. But there is NONE! On the other hand, yodlee is able to continue adding new bank support. Yodlee is doing a great job with its online only banking system; while MS is lagging years in its online banking technology. Further frustrating is that after 5 updates, I still cannot get any of my bank updated. It happens in the previous version occasionally. It seems to happen more often in this version. Now, most of the bank updates without a password can NEVER be updated. What a piece of waste MS has produced!

      Pros:
Ease of use, Easy to Download, Central Money Planning

      Cons:
Very little differnece from prior versions

      Summary:
It's always great to be able to track your finances in one convient format. This software helps the average person keep their finaces in order. I have used the various versions over the years and I have felt that they helped to keep things manageable. Not a whole lot of change but it's always good to have the latest version. If you check around you will find this software at a great price when combined with a tax software purchase.
