Pros:
swivel screen, nice pictureCons:
title button, rewind/fast forwardSummary:
There are three types of portable DVD players. The first is the really expensive ones that cost way too much money but have a lot of cool features. The second is the really bad ones that cost like $35 at Wal-Mart. And then the third is in between, the Protron PDS-758LP. This player is not hugely expensive, but it?s not a terrible unit, either. The player is pretty easy to use, because most of the buttons you need are conveniently on the player, save for one. That is the ?title? key, and this is used to get to the DVD menu, so that the movie doesn?t start automatically. It is annoying to have to take out the remote just for that button, which half the time doesn?t work anyway. The ?GUI? key is a good feature, because it gives you the current time elapsed during the program, and the chapter and title number that you?ve reached. The ?On? and ?Off? keys are good, because they probably won?t get pressed during the player?s time in the case, because you have to press each for three seconds to perform the function. The ?rewind? and ?fast-forward? keys are bothersome, because if you accidentally let go less than 3 seconds after you started, the DVD player skips to the next or previous chapter, and you have to go back and start all over. Plus, if you hold it down too long, the player goes ridiculously fast and then you have to back up as well. The carrying case is useful because you don?t need a place to store it, as it can just sit on the floor just about anywhere. It is also protective, because so far the case has been dropped twice containing the unit, and the player has not broken yet! The picture is very clear and another useful feature is the ?monitor? button, which changes a full-screen picture to wide-screen, upside-down screen, or even no screen! Both formatted movies look great on the screen, and the screen swivels a useful 180 degrees which is necessary for many different reasons. The battery never seems to charge, even though it charges each time the player is on, since it has to be connected to the wall to work, when the battery isn?t charged, which it never is, so it?s a vicious circle. The Protron isn?t worth it?s regular price, but even a small sale makes it a useful buy. It?s a waste of money to buy a real expensive one, since this one is just fine. The Protron PDS-758LP has its quirks, but overall it?s a good player.

Pros:
Easy to install, Excellent in car, Picuture was excellent. Sound is good.Cons:
Battery did NOT charge.Summary:
This product work excellent. It is easy to setup. Even it worked in CAR. Video is excellent. Sound quality is good. Overall this product is impressive. Bad part is.... their battery did not work. But, it worked with power adapter. I talked twice to their technical support, however, it could not work. Then I was advised to go for exchange the product from retailer (www.OfficeDepot.com), which is still IN-PROCESS. Once I get the product, I hope my problem would get it resolved. If my battery problem is resolved then I would be buying one more on rebate.

Pros:
180 Swivel screen, Compact case and has all accessories you will require.Cons:
None so far.Summary:
We were planning a long trip and I wanted something to keep my kid occupied. My kid loves this Player. Especially on long trips, she tends to watch her favorite movies. Its got a 180 swivel and also includes a car headrest mountable strap. The picture is neat and the sound is also good. Has heard some bad reviews about the sound. But for a portable, I feel it is pretty good. It comes with a Remote, AV Cable, Battery, AC/DC Adapter, Ear buds, 12 Volt Car Charger, a compact carrying case and car headrest mountable. It plays all major formats. Wish it played divx too.

The swivel screen makes it viewable from a wide angle, and is great for the car. The adjustable viewing angle is a plus. No problems playing our recorded DVDs as well. The battery life is marginal.

Accessories available only at grossly inflated prices.Summary:
I called the maker to find out the cost of an extra battery pack. Price is $125 plus shipping!!! Got virtually silence from both a sales rep and supervisor when asked how that could be when the retail price for the DVD player including a battery is less than $100. They just kept repeating that $125 plus shipping was the price for just an extra battery pack. Avoid this product.
