1. Hm, I never looked at it that way. I thought guys didn't care about Valentines, but hey if a girl can want a diamond necklace then I suppose the man can want his flat screen. But Valentines is just another commercialized holiday and an excuse to "show" someone how much you love them with gifts etc. DONT FEED INTO IT!

2. I think women really just want to see that thought and effort were put into the gift, and when the gifts are repetitive year after year it may appear that the men are just going to the store and picking up the first thing they see without any thought. For example, rather than handing over candy or flowers in person, take the extra step and have them sent to her job so everyone can see how loved she is :) As far as diamond necklaces and flat-screen HDTVs…this is not Christmas…just show a kind gesture and keep it moving!
