The debate between pleats and no pleats is a hashed-out subject for sure, but I think it's worth a revisit since many men are still wearing them, even despite protest from their lady. Guys, if you fall in this category, just compare the two photos below.

Now, ladies, I know what you're thinking ... need you say more? But for the guys, let's do a run-down on why there really should be no question about pleats ... as if the photos didn't do justice to my case already!
1. They outdate your image and make you look older than you really are.
2. They pooch out and make you look heavier.
(Some men say pleated pants fit better because of the extra room for the thighs, but if you don't need it, bid the pleats goodbye!)
3. They can stunt your height.
4. They are unattractive.
5. They are not female-approved.
Now, take a look at flat-front pants. They lean you out and the clean lines give you a sleek, modern, not to mention sexier image! I've started the shopping for you, so no more excuses and don't use laziness as an excuse here because these are all available to buy online.

1. Wrong, wrong, wrong, the only thing you have correct is that the photo tells all...flat-front means flat-front. Pleats are for anatomically correct men.

2. Your couldn't be even more wrong about pleat pants. So many people I run into prefer pleat pants. They look sharper, more professional and they seem more high end with style. I just asked all the women in my office and 12 out of 12 say pleated slacks look so much more sexier on a man. Think you need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

3. Flat front pants are ugly!!!! Pleated ones are more stylish & way
more comfortable! However we all know why the manufacturers are
pushing them to be "trendy" for men & women & why they want everyone
to start liking them instead of pleated pants: the same reason they
discontinued shoulder pads in womens shirts: to cut their costs &
save them money!!! They are trying to
convince us "flat" looks better (when it certainly doesn't, looks
like something from the 50's James Dean style) so they make more
profit off of each pair. It takes more fabric to make pleats!!! Let's
all NOT buy those ugly flat front pants & if they aren't selling, you
can be sure they will quit making them & give us the pleats that we
want!!!

4. My husband had some pleated pants but I convinced him to try a flat front trouser and he looks very handsome. He is very tall and has a larger build. Flat front may not be for everyone but I do think that they are worth a try. The fellas should spend some time trying on different pant fits and see what works best for them and their size, build, lifestyle.
