If you are looking for an updated digital subwoofer, this is the one to get.It produces great bass in a small footprint. It's extremely easy to set up. Just plug in your LFE cable and set your crossover and volume levels and you're ready to go. The controls (except for the crossover setting) is up front and can be accessed with the touch of a button. The panel lights can be adjusted if you find them distracting.For such a high-end sub, you would have expected Velodyne to put in an automatic on/off setting. With such a feature when the receiver or amplfier sends a bass signal to the sub, it automatically turns on. When the signal is absent it turns itself off. With the DPS-10, you have to manually turn the unit on or off.The only other drawback is that for its price point, Velodyne does not supply a remote.If you have a medium-sized room, this 10" sub will do the trick. If you have a large home theater, you may want to to with Velodyne's DPS-12 model for $100 more.There are cheaper subs out there. But if you want a quality state-of-the-art subwoofer, the DPS-10 is it!

This outstanding powered subwoofer dramatically brought my system to life. I route it through an Onkyo 803 receiver and have Polk Audio M60s as my mains and Polk surround in-wall speakers which are great by themselves, but the DPS-10 added a whole new dimension to the sound. It's not inexpensive but for my money it's worth every penny. It elevates every nuance of sound, highs and lows, soft or booming, whether watching a DVD or listening to CDs. Excellent product.

Summary:
SUPER CLEAN DEEP BASE... THIS UNIT IS ONE OF THE BEST SUB I HAVE CAME ACROSS.. FOR AN 10". I HAD MANY OTHER SUBS... BUT THIS ONE BLOWS THE REST AWAY FOR THE PRICE IT'S GOT TO HAVE.

I having been searching and shopping for a subwoofer for several months, under $500 to replace my Yamaha SW215, nice but not enough bass. So decided to check out circuit city, heard how velodyne play. It actually almost knocked down the speaker near it, didn't think twice, go it, love it.
